By the Sea

It doesn't look very Singapore but it really is. Right here at East Coast Park. The sea looks clean and clear and the beach looks fine and the sun is out there. What an idyllic scene.

Peace in the City

Is this the place where you can get some peace in the city? Possibly, with all the greenery and the quiet spots. After all, this is Hong Lim Park, where nobody really speaks at the Speakers' Corner. But all this may be set to change......

i'll Like to Frame This Up in My Room

This opening creates a frame for this image of colourful balls at the water feature right in front of Capital Tower in our very own CBD. 

Art and the City

Art and the city go together hand in hand. Sometimes, we do need to break away from the rat race and keep a few moments to yourself. And what better way than to absorb yourself in an art piece. This sculpture, together with a series of other pop-art sculptures, is created by world-renowned artist Roy Lichtenstein and they are right there at Millenia Walk. 

The Road is Laid Out for You

This is the pavement beside the SMRT building just opposite Raffles City. The pavement is made up of the tessellation of hexagons that is just the shape of the seats at the sides. Sometimes, more attention should be paid to where you are stepping on.

SAM at Night

This is the Singapore Art Museum at night from the campus of SMU. It is rather surprising that there's actually such a scene in the bustling city.

Dance of the Cranes under the Moon

This is the site of the Marina Bay Sands where there are a lot of cranes working hard under the pale full month hanging in the sky.

Ghost Town in Singapore

This is Marina Bay, where there used to be a couple of steamboat restaurants and there will be touts getting hold of the busload of passengers who alight at the bus stop. And of course there used to be bowling alleys, pubs and kites flying in that area. But it is now just a ghost town... Then again, in a year or two, this area will be bustling with activity once again when the "Gardens by the Bay" project is completed.

Singaporeans are Patriotic

Singaporeans are patriotic. This was taken at the Capital Tower in the CBD outside the Bang & Olufsen showroom when the fate of Singapore's first Olympic medal in 48 years was in the hand (or paddle) of national paddler Feng Tianwei. Lots of people were looking and cheering her on right there. And she has done us proud.
